I had a mishap about 2 months ago and lost my heavy duty plein air tripod that holds my easel when I’m out plein air painting. I have replaced it with a lighter version of the same brand, and really like it. I used it for the first time yesterday at Conn Harbor where I painted and enjoyed the spectacular morning. I set up between the boat put-in ramp and the bait shop where I had 3 shrimp boats very close (photo below). Learning the shrimp boats has been a challenge for me; they are complicated, even when I want paint them impressionistically! I will some day tackle painting the birds, some of which will hang out and give me enough time to paint them (amazing). Here are the photos of the morning, and my little color study that is truly a messy study.
